CALHAN SUBSTATION AND TRANSMISSION LINE UPGRADE

Request by Mountain View Electric Association, Inc. / Tri-State, for Approval of Location, pursuant to C.R.S. 30-28-110 and Section 5.3.3 of the El Paso County Land Development Code, to rebuild the existing Mountain View's 69k V electric transmission line to a 115k V transmission line, and location for the new Calhan Substation. This project is in multiple zone districts. The Calhan Substation is on a 40-acre parcel, and the station itself will cover approximately 3.53 acres of this site. The Substation, transmission line, and easements are located near US Highway 24 running east and west between the Black Squirrel Substation at 12498 Goodson Road and the Calhan Switching Station at 24802 Scott Road spanning approximately 15 miles in the unincorporated El Paso County.
