FOUNTAIN CREEK RECOVERY

Request by the City of Colorado Springs as owner and Colorado Springs Utilities as applicant for Approval of Location pursuant to C.R.S. 30-28-110 to develop land to protect downstream water quality from impacts associated with upstream sanitary sewer spills into Fountain Creek. The diverted water will be contained and then pumped to the existing Sand Creek Lift Station for transfer to the existing Las Vegas Wastewater Treatment Facility. The property is located near the intersection of State Highway 85-87 and Academy Boulevard on the west side of Highway 85-87 on both north and south sides of the intersection. The proposed recovery facility project is approximately 39.49 acres in size and is located in the A-1 (Agricultural) District and is not in a comprehensive planning area. (Schedule No. 65033-00-043)

The proposal on 2,003.51 acres includes 8,577 dwelling units, commercial, parks, trails, open space uses, schools and right-of-way dedication. The property is located south of Drennan Road, west of proposed Meridian Road, and one mile north and south of Bradley Road, within the Highway 94 Planning Area.
