Job Requirements: Communicates the purpose and expectations of the Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP) to applicant and clients. Processes mail-in applications and interviews clients to assess eligibility needs; determines client eligibility for CCCAP programs and services; verifies eligibility factors through home visits and record assessment, and determines eligibility for various services. Manages an ongoing case load for eligibility redeterminations, changes and updates, processing of closures, and reinstatement of cases. Assists applicants and clients with obtaining assistance through community support services. Maintains case files in audit readiness; updates and revises program forms when necessary. Prepares paperwork, data entry functions, and other processes in accordance with state and county rules, regulations, and policies; implements the Quality Assurance Program (QAP) by ensuring accuracy and timeliness of work. Determines need for fund recovery and referrals; documents recoveries and retroactive payments. Participates in county mediation; prepares reports for and testifies at client appeal evidentiary hearings.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Three (3) years full time responsible work experience. Ability to communicate and work effectively with co-workers, other DHS personnel, clients, other agencies, and the public. Ability to efficiently plan, schedule, and organize. Ability to assess situations and make prudent and appropriate decisions; ability to apply conflict resolution and problem solving skills. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Ability to use standard office equipment including computer, fax machine, copier, calculator, and telephone. Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License and the appropriate level of personal vehicle insurance. Background investigation and a completed El Paso County employment application are required.
