Criteria: Based on education and experience as specified below.
Job Requirements: Orders materials, parts, and equipment. Researches requests to determine if original equipment or suitable substitute is available. Contacts vendor/supplier to obtain cost estimates and availability. Selects vendor and issues purchase order. Establishes follow-up procedures to resolve causes of delay when estimated delivery date is past due. Maintains and updates the computerized data files in the Materials Inventory Management System to indicate the procurement, receipt, and issuance of stocked and non-stocked materials, parts, and equipment. Maintains accurate inventory listing and consumption data. Receives and ships parts, materials, and equipment. Generates and inputs minor purchase orders of the department into the JD Edwards System. Requests and prints status reports on bi-weekly basis. Coordinates with Logistic Management Supervisor on a daily basis regarding changes. Randomly takes physical inventory to ensure proper stocking. Maintains computerized listing of capital assets assigned to maintenance department. Reads inventory reports and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock and order priority. Confers with department personnel to determine material usage. Use of hand held barcode scanners connected to department computerized files for inventory accuracy. Counts material, merchandise, or supplies in-stock and posts totals to inventory records using barcode and automated system.
POSITION IS SUBJECT TO ANNUAL RENEWAL OF CITY MAINTENANCE CONTRACT.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. One (1) year of purchasing and inventory management experience. Basic knowledge of building maintenance (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, etc.) in order to supply correct parts and equipment to maintenance personnel. Ability to operate a computer, calculator, bar code system, and multi-line telephone system. Ability to work independently. Ability to do detailed work accurately and on a timely basis. Ability to communicate effectively with County staff, vendors, and the general public. Conditional post offer physical examination required. Possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License.
Any equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the education and experience requirements above. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
