Criteria: Based on education and experience as specified below.
Job Requirements: Performs maintenance and repair of facilities and property, either responding to calls or as preventative maintenance measures. May use a variety of diagnostic tools to determine state of some equipment as part of preventative measure process. Performs new and remodeling/alteration projects using appropriate methods, practices, tools and materials of the building and industrial trades. May be required to accomplish removal of small quantities of hazardous materials (I.e. glove bag asbestos, etc.) as part of the asbestos team. If required, will work in asbestos environment utilizing a full suit and respirator. Required to operate equipment in the performance of assignments, including machinery used in snow removal. Required to read and interpret technical diagrams/maps/information in performance of work assignments. Required to coordinate work assignments to complete work projects, which may include picking up, delivering, and ordering materials. Documents work completed on work order sheet. Assists in identifying and retaining contractors to perform maintenance and repair, and coordinates, monitors, and reviews contractors work. Responds to emergency and on call situations. Assists in minor construction work. Performs shop services such as metal-working, welding, and fabrication.
POSITION IS SUBJECT TO ANNUAL RENEWAL OF CITY MAINTENANCE CONTRACT.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Three (3) years work experience in this field. Skill in the care and use of tools and equipment commonly used in building maintenance (hand tool, power tools, gauges, pumps detectors, test equipment, and snow removal equipment, etc.). Ability to communicate effectively and work with other employees. Must be able to lift and carry up to 55 pounds. Uses equipment to move heavier items. Conditional post offer physical examination required. Possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License.
Any equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the education and experience requirements above. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
