Criteria: Based on education and experience as specified below.
Job Requirements: Performs preventative maintenance and repairs mechanical equipment and associated components. Changes filters in mechanical equipment. Maintains records on preventive maintenance performed. Examines building mechanical equipment on a regular basis and reports needed repairs. Performs other building maintenance tasks supporting building maintenance and repair of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc, when requested. Estimates time, materials, and equipment required for assigned jobs. Updates work orders with any work performed and materials used. Assist supervisor(s) in scheduling work orders and completing paperwork. Updates information on work order forms as required to accurately reflect conditions in the field. Performs on-call responsibilities as required, supporting all buildings, including correctional facilities. Cleans debris from work area, parts and equipment.
POSITION IS SUBJECT TO ANNUAL RENEWAL OF CITY MAINTENANCE CONTRACT.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Two year degree in HVAC Technician or Building Maintenance; or three (3) years work experience accomplishing HVAC maintenance and repair in commercial and/or industrial buildings required. Working knowledge of additional building systems (electrical, plumbing and carpentry) required. Ability to operate and maintain electrical test/diagnostic equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters, and combustion gas analyzer. Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to accomplishing facility maintenance and repair. Ability to read, interpret, and work from wiring diagrams, code books, sketches, layouts, blueprints, oral and written instructions. Skill in the care and use of tools and equipment commonly used in building maintenance (hand tools, power tools, gauges, pumps, detectors, test equipment, etc). Ability to communicate effectively and work with other employees. Must be able to work independently, without supervision. Possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License. Must possess or obtain and maintain Pikes Peak Regional Building Department Mechanical IV license. Federal Universal CFC certificate is desired. Conditional post offer physical examination required.
Any equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the education and experience requirements above. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
