Criteria: Based on education and experience as specified below.
Job Requirements: Performs on-call responsibilities as required supporting all buildings, including correctional facilities. Maintains, diagnoses, and corrects problems in one or more of the building systems to include but not limited to mechanical or electrical system. Performs investigative tasks and corrects problems before breakdowns occur; makes the necessary repairs as quickly as possible in order to minimize inconvenience. Monitors, troubleshoots and maintains all DDC/pneumatic control systems of all maintained buildings. Performs all phases of preventive and predictive maintenance responsibilities. Accomplishes cost benefit analysis and makes recommendation to repair or replace equipment. Estimates time, materials, and equipment required for assigned jobs; maintains work orders of work performed and materials used. Reviews design packages as required ensuring compatibility and maintainability with existing building systems. Provides technical guidance to fellow maintenance technicians as required to clarify maintenance and repair issues. Assists with project oversight under direction of mechanical supervisor. Responds to emergency situations.
POSITION IS SUBJECT TO ANNUAL RENEWAL OF CITY MAINTENANCE CONTRACT.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in a technical trade or a combination of experience and technical training. Eight (8) years experience working in HVAC maintenance and repair with three (3) years experience working at the journeyman level. Two (2) years experience with DDC control operations. Knowledge of the theory and operation of heavy commercial HVAC and controls, boilers, chillers etc. Must be able to read and interpret technical diagrams, maps and operation and maintenance manuals. Thorough knowledge of the proper use of tools and test equipment necessary to perform assigned work. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to work with co-workers, vendors and the public. Ability to carry out non-routine work assignments. Must be able to work independently without supervision. Possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License. Possess Federal Universal CFC certificate. Possess the Pikes Peak Regional Building Dept. Mech. IV license. Conditional post offer physical examination required.
Any equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the education and experience requirements above. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
