Criteria: Based on education and experience as specified below.
Job Requirements: Drives senior clients as assigned to various medical appointments, grocery shopping, to the Senior Center for socialization and to participate in the meal program, on scheduled outings and to conduct other personal business. Collects and prepares accurate statistical data for monthly reporting requirements. Processes project donations received from clients. Helps with scheduled preventative maintenance duties, to include but not limited to checking the oil and other fluid levels, tire pressure, etc., and making supervisor aware of noted scheduled and emergency needs. Responsible to keep vehicles clean inside and out. Includes taking the vehicles to be washed and vacuumed as needed. Assists senior clients from their homes to their destinations. Supervises and assists with loading and unloading, opening and closing doors and helping to secure seatbelts. Transports senior clients in wheelchairs using lift-equipped vans. Attends annual driving skills training as required. Attends conferences as required. Answers and directs telephone calls when in the office.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working with the senior population is preferred. Driver's license records check required. Ability to exercise good judgment in problem solving and decision making. Ability to take needed initiative and work without direct supervision. Experience and ability to drive safely in all types of inclement weather. Ability to communicate effectively with office staff, volunteers and clients. Light to medium lifting, up to 50 lbs, is required. Conditional post-offer examination and drug test is required. Ability to assist senior citizens in boarding and exiting transportation vans.
Any equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the education and experience requirements above. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
