Job Requirements: Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. Provides customer assistance by responding to routine inquiries. Performs data entry and additional duties such as answering phones, filing, and inventories; ensuring accuracy and adhering to department rules and regulations. Serves as a representative of the designated elected official when required; fulfilling all roles and/or tasks as assigned. Sworn as agent to perform certain statutory duties, as required, for the Clerk and Recorder. Contributes to team effort by helping to achieve departmental goals.
Minimum Qualifications: U.S. Citizen. Must be registered to vote in Colorado. High school diploma or equivalent. Two (2) years clerical or customer service experience, including data entry, multi-line telephone, bookkeeping, and/or cashiering experience. Office hours are 7:00am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday, with various 40-hour-per-week shifts. May be assigned to any Clerk and Recorder office location. Overtime and weekend hours may be required, especially during election cycles. Ability to operate standard office equipment including computer, 10-key calculator, telephone, copy machine, etc. Knowledge of legal documents such as banking, law, or title insurance helpful. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations accurately and quickly. Ability to communicate effectively with County staff and the general public in person or by telephone. Ability to read and understand manuals, have legible handwriting. Must be detail oriented, well organized, cooperative, flexible and able to follow instructions. Adheres to ethical standards of conduct and understands the impact of violating these standards on an organization, self, and others. Employees may be dispatched to other Office facilities throughout the work day or to various other locations throughout the County to represent the Office, especially during election cycles. Employees are responsible for getting to the work site(s) as assigned; if own vehicle is driven, employees are responsible for having proper insurance coverage. A criminal background investigation and driver's license check are required and are subject to periodic review as per County and Office policies. Type 40 wpm. Ability to lift office supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
Any equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the education and experience requirements above. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
