Salary:  $3,225.00 - $4,444.00 per month

Criteria:  Based on education and experience as specified below.

Job Requirements:  LAW ENFORCEMENT: Answers calls from an assigned district and acts on service calls. Patrols County to detect illegal actions or activities and to ensure the security and safety of businesses and homes. Serves summons, subpoenas, and warrants. Writes and files reports by gathering facts evidence vouchers or making affidavits. Writes traffic summons and testifies in court about them. Investigates and writes runaway reports. Provides assistance to citizens involved in accidents, counsels citizens when appropriate. Attends briefing sessions prior to the start of a shift and attends training classes. DETENTIONS: Performs duties necessary to ensure security and welfare of staff and inmates while in the Detention Facility. Conducts security checks within the inmate housing units. Performs first line supervision skills over inmates. Communicates with and through the control room operator all pertinent information to include incidents requiring additional personnel and/or medical emergencies and assistance. Supervises and assists in movement and pat searches of large numbers of inmates through the Detention and Court facilities. Assists in ward contraband shakedowns, clothing and bedding exchanges, and daily and weekly clean-up details. Administrative duties to include incident reports.

Minimum Qualifications:  High school diploma/GED. Ability to possess a valid Colorado Driver's License. Applicant must pass background investigation, Computerized Voice Stress Analysis (CVSA) examination, psychological evaluation, physical examination and drug screen prior to employment. Applicant must be 21 years of age at time of application. Applicant must be able to work shift work, weekends and holidays. Must be honest, truthful, trustworthy, and possess a high degree of personal integrity. Eye sight correctable to 20/20. Must never have been convicted of a felony or crime involving moral turpitude. Must be a U.S. Citizen. DEPUTY SHERIFF APPLICATION IS REQUIRED.

Any equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the education and experience requirements above. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
