Colorado Springs, July 8, 2010 – The Board of El Paso County Commissioners has scheduled a work session and a public hearing to discuss land use administration and local licensing regulations related to local control of medical marijuana. A work session on the topic the topic of local licensing and regulations will be held July 13, 2010 at 9 a.m. in the third floor Hearing Room at the County Office Building at 27 East Vermijo.
The El Paso County Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing to consider proposed land use regulations and revisions to the Land Development Code relating to medical marijuana on August 3, 2010. That meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in the Hearing Room of the Regional Development Center at 2880 International Circle.
The Board of County Commissioners has scheduled a regular Public Hearing on proposed land use regulations, revisions to the Land Development Code and proposed El Paso County licensing regulations related to medical marijuana on August 12, 2010 at 9 a.m. in the Hearing Room of the Regional Development Center, at 2880 International Circle.
The last session of the Colorado General Assembly passed House Bill 1284 which requires medical marijuana dispensing facilities to obtain state and local licensing approval and to be in compliance with all local zoning codes. The Governor signed the bill into law last month. These open and public meetings are in important part of the process to develop local licensing procedures and regulations as well as zoning and land use regulations and El Paso County residents interested in this topic are encouraged to attend.
