ELECTION DEPARTMENT OPEN THIS FRIDAY
October 28, 2009 – Colorado Springs, CO – The Coordinated Election is next Tuesday, November 3. In order to service citizens with election needs, the Election Department at 200 S. Cascade Ave. will be open on Friday, October 30, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
All election services will be available at the downtown location on Friday, including replacement ballots, address changes, voting on the accessible voting device and voted ballot drop-off.
Curbside ballot drop-offs will be available next Monday and Tuesday at all three Clerk & Recorder’s Office locations. Monday, November 2 – ballot drop-off is 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 3 – Election Day – ballot drop-off is 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
In addition, the Centennial Hall Election Office will be open with extended hours to serve citizens with election needs on Tuesday, Election Day, 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Ballots also may be returned by mail. However, ballots must be received in the Clerk & Recorder’s Office by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, November 3. If a voter is returning only the ballot, standard postage of $0.44 is sufficient. In some circumstances a voter may be required to return identification or a form along with their ballot. In that instance, extra postage could be required. If anything needs to be returned with the ballot there will be a stamp indicating what is needed on the back of the envelope sent to the voter.
