Board Chairman Jim Bensberg signed the Army Community Covenant on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners during a public signing ceremony at the El Pomar Foundation.
Bensberg said, “We stand shoulder to shoulder with the men and women of Fort Carson.” He went on to say, “Our support for the Mountain Post, its soldiers and their families is nothing new, but the Army Community Covenant serves as a strong reminder of the daily sacrifices they make to protect our freedoms.”
Fort Carson is El Paso County’s largest employer and the second largest in the state, second only to state government.
