County Planning Commission
The
Planning Commission is advisory to the Board of County Commissioners
on most land use requests. Exceptions, where the request is not
forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners, are Amendments to
the County Master Plan and Location Approvals.
The
Planning Commission meets on the third Tuesday of each month and,
if the agenda warrants, the meeting is concluded on the fourth Tuesday
of the month. In addition to the monthly meeting(s), members are
encouraged to visit the sites and review written Comments prior
to each meeting. The agenda for the current month is available approximately
10 days prior to the first meeting.
Meetings
are normally held in the Hearing Room, Second Floor, Pikes Peak
Development Review Center, 2880 International Circle, Colorado Springs,
Colorado. They begin at 9:00 a.m., with a lunch break at an appropriate
place on the agenda.
Planning
Commissioners are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners.
Three Associate Members serve one-year terms and may be reappointed
innumerable times. There are nine Regular Members, who serve three-year
terms, with a maximum of two terms. Terms usually expire in May
and vacancies are advertised in the Gazette. The Planning
Commission is governed by adopted Bylaws and Resolution adopted
by the Board of County Commissioners, as well as Roberts' Rules
of Order.
