SUSPENSION
OF PLANNING COMMISSION CYCLE
On
October 26, 2000, the Board of County Commissioners took action
to temporarily suspend the Planning Commission submittal cycle
for one year. This action is formalized in Board Resolution
00-442. Compared with the existing system, the new process
places significantly more emphasis on early assistance to the
customer.
Although
meeting schedules remain unchanged (e.g. the Planning Commission
still meets on a monthly basis) submittal of new projects will
now be taken on an "anytime basis," based on prior
arrangments with a designated planner (Point of Contact) from
this Department. With the exception of Board
of Adjustment applications, there will no longer be a fixed
submittal deadline each month. To expedite this system, all
prospective applicants are encouraged to complete a pre-application
form. This allows a Point of Contact (POC) to be assigned.
In
the upcoming months, the Planning Division and Department
of Transportation will be refining this new system. Please specifically
note that we are in the midst of revising our submittal packets
to accommodate the new process. During this period it is especially important that you complete
a pre-applicant form and coordinate with your POC prior to submitting
any application materials. The El Paso County Planning Division apologizes
for any delays and inconvenience which may be created as we
implement this new system.
