Powers
Boulevard / Major Thoroughfare Task Forces
The
Powers Boulevard/ Major Thoroughfare Task Forces are advisory to
the Planning Commission and Board of County
Commissioners. Recommendations are made concerning access and construction
criteria for both Powers Boulevard and major transportation corridors
within the unincorporated area of El Paso County. Staff support
is provided by the Department of Transportation and Planning Division.
These
Task Forces are supported by a Technical Committees (made up of
staff with expertise in the transportation field). The City of Colorado
Springs has representatives on both the Technical Committees and
Task Forces.
The
joint Task Force meeting is held at 7:30 a.m. on the third Friday
of each month in the Development Services Department, Pikes Peak
Regional Development Center, 2880 International Circle, Colorado
Springs, Colorado. The joint Technical Committee meeting is held
on the first Friday of the month, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the
same location.
Members
of these Task Forces are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners.
Some terms (those representing various County/ City departments/
entities) are indefinite; others (representing various interest
groups and citizens at large) have a three-year duration. Terms
usually expire in May and vacancies are advertised in the Gazette.
The Task Forces are governed by Resolution No. 96-57, General-24,
adopted by the Board of County Commissioners February 22, 1996,
as well as Roberts' Rules of Order.
