Criteria: Based on education and experience as specified below.
Job Requirements: Performs unskilled or limited semi-skilled labor in any or all of the areas of grounds maintenance as well as facility and equipment maintenance. Work assignments involve forestry pest control, turf and irrigation maintenance, facility cleaning and trash collection. Assists with minor construction projects. Drives County vehicles and other equipment and is responsible for assigned tools and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Basic knowledge of grounds maintenance, hand and power tools, painting, plumbing and minor electrical. Knowledge of standard forestry thinning practices. Must be familiar with wood chipping equipment. Must be familiar with chain saw operation, safety and maintenance. Must be able to learn basic job requirements within 2 weeks of training. Ability to practice safety precautions. Conditional post offer physical examination, drug screen, background investigation and driving record check are required. Must be willing to work late evenings, weekends and holidays as assigned.
Any equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the education and experience requirements above. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
Licenses OR Certificates: Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License or the ability to obtain prior to the first day of employment. Certified Chainsaw Operator preferred.
Work Conditions: Work is performed both indoors and outside in the field in various weather conditions. Requires physical effort to perform frequent lifting, bending and climbing. Requires lifting of up to eighty (80) pounds on an occasional basis. Physical hazard may be present when mixing or working with chemicals and working with or near power tools and motorized equipment.
