Criteria: Based on education and experience as specified below.
Job Requirements: Performs labor tasks required in the maintenance of park facilities including the use and operation of specialized vehicles, equipment, and power tools as needed for any assigned maintenance and improvement projects. Assigned work generally involves tasks including turf maintenance, horticulture activities, irrigation maintenance, minor construction, facility cleaning and trash collection. Operates light and heavy equipment and vehicles such as riding mower, skidsteer and tractor; performs routine inventory, preventative maintenance, and cleaning of assigned vehicles. Coordinates the activities of subordinates performing related work. Drives County vehicles and other equipment to perform assigned duties.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. One (1) year of related work experience. Ability to work independently and carry out assignments in a safe and proper manner. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to work effectively with County staff and the general public. Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical work in all types of weather. Conditional post offer physical examination, drug screen, and background investigation are required.
Any equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the education and experience requirements above. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
Licenses OR Certificates: Possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License, or the ability to obtain such license during the probationary period.
Work Conditions: Work is performed both indoors and outside in the field in various weather conditions. Requires frequent lifting, bending and climbing. Requires lifting of up to eighty pounds on an occasional basis. Physical hazards may be present when mixing or working with chemicals, power tools, and motorized equipment.
