Criteria: Based on education and experience as specified below.
Job Requirements: Provides customer assistance by responding to routine inquiries both in person and over the phone. Performs data entry and additional clerical duties such as answering phones, filing and inventories, ensuring accuracy and adhering to department rules and regulations. Serves as a representative of the designated elected official when required, fulfilling all roles and/or tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: U.S. Citizen; registered to vote in Colorado. Sworn as agent of the Clerk and Recorder's Office to discharge the duties conveyed by statute. High school diploma or equivalent required. Two (2) years clerical or customer service experience including data entry, multi-line telephone, bookkeeping and/or cashiering experience is required. Ability to work various shifts. Office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday; however, overtime and weekend hours may be required. May be assigned to any Clerk and Recorder office location. Ability to operate standard office equipment including computer, 10-key calculator, telephone, copy machine, etc. Ability to type 40 wpm. Ability to communicate effectively with County staff and the general public in person or by telephone. Ability to read and understand manuals. Must be detail oriented, well organized, cooperative, flexible and able to follow instructions. Adheres to ethical standards of conduct and understands the impact of violating these standards on the organization, self and others. A criminal background investigation and Driver's License check are required and are subject to periodic review as per El Paso County and office policies.
Any equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the education and experience requirements above. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
Licenses OR Certificates: Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver’s License.
Work Conditions: Duties are performed primarily in an office environment; however, all employees may be asked to drive during the course and scope of their duties. At times it will be necessary for staff to travel to training and/or meetings or work additional hours to meet theresponsibilities of the position. Additionally, employees may be dispatched to other office facilities throughout the work day or to various other locations throughout the County to represent the office, especially during election cycles. Employees are responsible for getting to the work site(s) as assigned; if own vehicle is driven, employees are responsible for having proper insurance coverage. May be required to lift office supplies weighing up to 25 lbs.
