Criteria:  Based on education and experience as specified below.

Job Requirements:  Plans, schedules and leads classes on recreation activities including tennis, archery, dog obedience, arts and crafts, dance, drama, music, sports, games, etc. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. Obtains necessary materials and equipment to conduct all recreation classes. Practices and instructs appropriate precautions to ensure safety of class participants. Completes any and all paperwork relating to any accidents or injuries which may occur during participation of classes.

Minimum Qualifications:  High School Diploma or equivalent. Competent knowledge in activity and/or program subject to be taught. Knowledge of methods and principles in instructing groups of children, teens and adults. Knowledge of specialty skill areas, such as games, arts and crafts, dance, drama, music or sports. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing; must be able to communicate in a one-on-one setting or group setting. Ability to work with staff and groups of all ages and backgrounds. Ability to evaluate recreation activities. Ability to handle minor disciplinary problems. Ability to stimulate and maintain interest in recreation activities. Ability to work safely and effectively with others. Ability to monitor and lead a variety of recreational activities.

Any equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the education and experience requirements above. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.

Licenses OR Certificates:  Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License.

Work Conditions:  Work will be conducted both indoors and outdoors. Some positions will require the performance of other essential and marginal functions depending upon the work location, assignment or shift.
