Criteria: Based on education and experience as specified below.
Job Requirements: Performs manual labor using various hand tools including shovels, picks, and axes. Patches cracks in asphalt using crack sealing equipment and performs asphaltic concrete patching on paved roads. Operates self-propelled hand rollers. Performs flagging duties. Removes debris from county rights-of-way, ditches, and trims trees/shrubbery and other vegetation. Loads or unloads small equipment and materials, and may assist in traffic striping. Collects trash from containers. Scheduled for on-call after hours to respond to emergencies (snow removal, flood repair, tornado clean-up, or any other natural disaster or safety need for the motoring public).
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Post conditional physical required. Ability to obtain a Colorado Flagger Certificate.
Any equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the education and experience requirements above. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
Licenses OR Certificates: Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License.
Work Conditions: Work is performed outdoors and at times in hazardous situations (operating construction vehicles, adverse weather). Requires lifting, bending and climbing, etc. Works with potentially dangerous equipment and tools. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Subject to emergency off hours call-out.
